Yep, you heard right one of the first ways consumers will have a chance to test drive the new Volt is in a video game. Following the announcement of thier new "Kinetic" system where users interact with video games by merely moving in front of a motion capture device at the 2010 CES another big announcement came at this year's Cannes Golen Lion advertising event.
It was announced today that one of the first new games on Xbox leveraging this technology called "Kinetic Joy Ride" will feature a fully designed version of the 2011 Chevy Volt for test-drive. The integration of the Volt into this new age gaming system speaks volumes about how the Volt is trying to win the hearts and minds of the tech savvy consumers with nice deep pockets.
While this is the first such integration of the Volt into a video game, Chevy marketing executives have had a losing record with some of their last attempts at being cool including the ill-fated Chevy Volt Dancers For the sake of the Volt's survival, let's hope this one goes off with a few less hitches and a bit more fanfare!
